SRV tone and style locked in!

Nice try, but not even close to SRV. Speed and phrasing/bends are way off.

You forgot to add vibrato

Cool stuff, but everything he played seems contrived.

Not to be a Darrel downer but I also am not really seeing it. As mentioned the vibrato is not really close and the patters are rushed. Tone isn't that spot on for me either but then again, single cool Texas hots through a cleanish breaking up amp and a tube screamer usually get close enough. If I want to hear an awesome SRV clone, I listen to Kenny Wayne Sheppard.

I thought he sounded extremely close, like a hair away from SRV himself.

He's giving HIS interpretation.. It's not going to be exact because.... Wait for it now...............

He's not SRV !

Of course it's not 100 % accurate. I think all around he nails it. I heard one too many trills on the D string... F to the G but besides that the guy was great at pulling it off. You guys crack me up sometimes.

Btw... Tone comes from a PodHD 500
Says in his description. Not freakin bad at all

Good tone for a pod I agree. Not as impressed by the playing as you I guess. I think it is fine playing and interpretation but not spot on SRV. Hey that's a good thing though, he is himself.

Pretty good with a POD. I think this guy nails the feel and vibrato a little better. No one can really touch Stevie doing Stevie.

This guy is way better than the first guy. I enjoyed this clip.

Have you heard the guy doing the true fire SRV course?
Believe it was a keeper used but holy moly.... Outrageous!

Wow.

Tough crowd.

Both those guys were great to me

I know, right? I think the first guy nailed it. SRV fans seem to hate the idea of someone doing a good impression of Stevie lol...

Not going to hate on either guy posted but when it comes to guys like SRV people understandably have the bar set very high already by a number of guys heavily influenced by him who are all great players. I'd definitely put Phillip Sayce, KWS and John Mayer in that list, and then you've got SRV himself...

I liked the 1st video better. I wanted to like the 2nd video, but it seemed to be lacking some soul. Just my opinion. I have devoted the last year and a half of my practicing to trying to capture his style with my rig, and I just don't have it.....yet.

I liked the second vid more. But despite commenting on the tone, I think both players are great. Don't get me wrong there.

1st guy needs to work on bending to pitch, flat on almost all of his bends.

2nd guy sounds really good.

The only similarities those two share is that they go by their first, middle, and last names.
