Which (cheap, for now) SS power amp are you guys running with your Axe-Fx rigs? I was looking at the MosValve and the ART.

Im using a Carvin 1540l (16lbs)

It only cost me $400 brand new and that's pretty cheap as far as poweramps go. You could probably find one used for cheaper.

ART SLA-2 is a great power amp and its 1U with 560 watts bridged

What do MosValve PA's usually go for? I saw one sold for $60 on a forum!

Depends on how many watts you are talking about! The more wattage the higher the $$$ (usually!)

Well, needs to be small gig worthy. I'm a fan of lower wattage stuff, but I guess it doesn't matter when we're talking SS. Cheaper the better for me right now. I'm already spenidng money I shouldn't be

Carvin has 2 amps, between 1000 and 1500watts, that run between 300/500 bucks.

A few MosValve MV-962's on eBay for $150. Pretty good deal. Now I just have to convince myself I really need it

Anyone know of any better deals? After seeing one go for $60, its gonna be hard to make myself even pay $150

Im not a volume whore but I find with the axe, the more power you have the better. You will often notice that most solid state amps have twice the power then there tube counter part ;)

Thats what I've found as well

Well, I don`t have an Axe Fx, but I use a Rocktron Velocity 250. It`s a little dark, but the semi-parametric on the Pod XT pro takes care of that. If you`re going to run the AF to FOH mix anyway, and just use the amp on stage as a monitor, you could probably use the cheapest, highest wattage amp you can find. I paid 1000 NOK for the Rocktron, it`s about 130$. You can probably find it a lot cheaper in the States.

How about the ADA MicroTube?

There`s a guy here, rsm or something (a three-letter username, can`t remember it, I`m afraid) who used to own a lot of ADA gear earlier. If you do a search for MP-2, he talked about having one for sale a couple of days ago.

I would definitely recommend against any of the ______Valve solid state power amps. The purpose of running SS with the Axe is so it can be completely neutral to utilize the power amp sims. I'm using the QSC GX5 right now and it works great.

I have a Yamaha P3500S, and it is so powerful that it is just silly to be running that into a 412, but it does sound great, and I got it for cheap used. I have been looking at the new Behringer 1U power amps, and I am waiting to hear some reviews http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/EPQ900.aspx looks promising, I am actually thinking about a set of the new Behringer B3031A monitors, 220 watts, and an 8 3/4" woofer that should be able to move enough air to make me happy running just that.

I know that there is a lot of hate for Behringer, but I haven't had any problems with any behringer stuff that I have bought. Great bang for the buck.

What speaker cab can you run with that? Seems like it would have to be a 4x12 with at least 140watts each speaker?

What power amp is available if you want to run the AxeFx or 11R or something like that with a 1x12 cab?

Great - until it goes permanently into standby mode. Quite "colorful" as well.
