Standard range pickups through Duncan Custom shop

Hey all,

Noticed one of my favourite music dealers in the US is selling a lot of Duncan custom shop pickups, all black open coils etc nothing different except for the lack of logo. Models such as JB, DD, Custom etc

I thought the custom shop was to give people the opportunity to get something completely different or underwound/overwound not just the standard range, or do people just want some MJ “magic”.
 
Duncan has a "shop floor custom" option where you can order any pickup without the logo at no extra charge (it was no charge last time I did it many years ago at least). Not a custom shop pickup or different wind or magnet, just no big SD white logo. You can also change poles as a "shop floor custom" option and get a double screw coil JB or small hex screw Invader or things like that where some of those changes may have a slight upcharge, but not a full custom shop price.

Ahh thank you, perhaps that explains it. These are wound by MJ however so would she also wind shop floor customs?
