So I went to see SS last nite at The Viper Room. The chance to see Pete Thorn perform was a huge reason I went as well.

First off... sons of bitches the place was packed, illegally overpacked IMO. It seemed like 100 people oversold for the small club The Viper Room is. Shoulder to shoulder, front to back from the stage to the bar and exit. They were even telling people to go to the lounge with a live feed on TV's. F that. That's not what I paid $40 to see.
Anyways... on to the show.

Steve's tone was smokin' through his Friedman SS. Juicy, punchy, clear. The guy is a great performer.
Pete played through a Friedman BE100. I know a some said he was buried in the mix at the NAMM/Tone Merchants show (which I missed). Yes, I did want to hear more of him, but he still came through to my ears standing in the back. Sounded like his mids were dialed out a bit, probably to make room for Steve's sound?
2nd guitar duties were split between Pete and Billy Morrison.

Most of the first hour was featuring Franky Perez who I thought was a phenomenal singer. They did Day Of The Eagle, It's A Man's Man's World, 21st Century Schizoid Man, War Pigs, Highway Star (which ROCKED) among others.
Steve did his flamenco unaccompanied solo which was great. Love his rhythmic picking style.

Then came Sebastian Bach. I must say I wasn't expecting much from him cuz I saw him in Jesus Christ Superstar about a decade ago and he was horrible. Obviously rock n' roll frontman is more his element and the guy really knows how to work a crowd- got everyone laughing and raising their fists. Oh, and I never realized what a behemoth he is on stage with his height and big hair. Literally head and shoulder above the rest of the band.
He did Monkey Business, Dazed and Confused, Hot For Teacher (with Pete ripping up VH on a Les Paul!), Whole Lotta Love, and I Remember You. I was pleasantly surprised that he can still hit a lot of his high notes.

To close the night, Steve called Billy Idol to the stage to everyone's surprise. They did an acoustic "Eyes Without A Face"- Billy blanked on the lyrics for about a full minute then asked someone to Google it on their phone   Cool to see such an icon not taking himself too seriously. Then they closed with Rebel Yell.

Severely uncomfortable room aside, it was a great show. Had the pleasure of meeting Pete and (the stunning) Trisha Lurie after the show who both seem like genuinely great people.

Sweet! We don't get those kinds of shows out here in Cleveland. Or anywhere in Ohio actually.

YES!

Haha, I love Sebastian. Sounds like a helluva night..

The last time I went to the Viper Room was the last time I'll go to the Viper Room. It was as the OP said, way overcrowded, and just impossible to see the band much, if at all.

Glad to hear the sound mix didn't bury Pete, since that was what happened at the NAMM show they did.

saw a few clips on youtube sounded killer! also saw the brainfart with Billy! awesome! he has a great sense of humor! but what the hell he is a great singer :thumbsup/frontman!!

Man, I hate crowds..............................but I think I would of had to suck it up for that show! I wouldn't have cared after a couple of black tooths (or would it be black teeth? :D ).
