Horrible audio, but a little taste of the SS

From the South American leg of the Rock & Roll Allstars:

A picture is posted of it on some gallery page of his. ..not what I expected it to look like. But based on the few demos of him playing through it sounds incredible

If you are referring to the amps on SS's side of the stage next to the 2 Marshalls, the 2 look like his Marsha's to me.

Yes but who the heck knows what's under the hoods besides SS and Mr. Friedman.

After SS played the proto of the SS100, he had Dave use his Marsha that he has had for some time to model the SS100 after and make changes.

What's the state of the SS? I'm thinking of buying a BE, but I really want to compare against an SS first before making a decision -- stuck in limbo 'til the SS...

As of last week I heard from Mr. King that it's a long way off.

Not sure about a long way off but not ready now. I am sure Dave will post up with the time table.

4 weeks not too bad. Do you see the SS as an "angrier" BE? Less or more options than the BE? What's the differentiators?

Thanks.

Do believe it will be 3600.00. The sound is basicly the BE but voiced with Steve . It's fat and angry . It also has a switch to take it to a higher gain setting if you like.

So with that hi gain switch is it fair to say it's like a BE + HBE with a different voicing?

Which naturally begs the question how does the voicing differ from the Marsha BE/HBE?

Hard to explain. It's a bit fatter and a touch more vintage but still very aggressive.

Hope this is ok to post...First time here...
Just found this on facebook..Looks Great!!!
The comments on Steve's Facebook says hopefully shipping October!!!
I think I need one!

I heard that the SS model would have cleans similar to a Fender Twin. Is that correct?

The SS100 uses what Friedman calls the "full" clean channel which is Fender style cleans.

It's Fender style clean but through a 4x12 it doesn't sound like a Twin. It does sound great though for a high gainer. One of the best clean channels out there.
