Strymon BigSky Users - What's the verdict?

Ok, I had myself convinced I didn't need reverb, but I've been drawn into this pedal again. It's really the only effect that isn't covered by my board right now. I have a Timeline and Mobius, but don't know how many reverb sounds I really need and this one's more expensive than those pedals. Just curious how it's working out for people and also whether the reverb sounds get too washed out in a band mix.

I have the Timeline and Mobius but for verb I usually just go with 1 or 2 settings tops. Something like the HOF or Digitech hardwire is enough for me. $400 for a reverb pedal for me is overkill.

I have the Blue Sky and its amazing! Love it. You cant go wrong

I have the Flint and love it. BUT I also have a iStomp with the Lexicon Reverb downloaded into it and run that through my loop and it sounds amazing. iStomp also has a spring reverb and maybe another 1-2. For $39 you can't beat it and if you decide to change it out later you can reload some other effect into it.

That doesn't mean I am not getting a Mobius and TimeLine. The other iStomp I have the CH1 chorus that has curved my gas for now. Truly amazed at the iStomp quality of build and tone.

For the Money you spend on Strymon Id get the Mobius so you can change presets and get more out of it. Read you can split effects for loop and front of amp along with changing effects with midi.

I love the BlueSky, Timeline, and Mobius. All are fantastic but require some experimenting and time (and a midi controller) to utilize their full potential.

Yeah the BlueSky seems like an obvious cheaper solution to the Bigsky. I really like the Mobius and Timeline. The HOF reverb is enticing as well.

Oops, I meant to say BigSky in my earlier post. It's amazing but only if you need a MASSIVE variety of verb options. The Magneto sounds exceptional.

I like the Dr. Scientist RRR if you're after a simpler verb with a buncha options in a small footprint.

Hear good thins about the TC stuff as well, never tried it, Hall of Fame or whatever they call it...

Ok, I've heard good things about the RRR. I might spring for the Bigsky if I could take take advantage of it for vocals and other studio tasks that may come up for me. I don't really care for the reverb plugins I'm using at the moment.

The BigSky would make a great studio tool. So many good sounding options. Excels on guitar, bass, vocals, keys, etc, etc.

Yeah, I'm really impressed with the demos. I play in an ambient rock band, so this thing seems perfect. I noticed some of the traditonal sized stompbox reverbs are nice, but don't really excel at ambient textures...

Possibly a tired/predictable answer but the WET excels for that sort of thing.

As far as I'm concern this is THE pedal for ambient music of any sort. If you have the funds it's totally worth it. It's AMAZING on anything that needs trippy verb. Vocals, keys, bass, drums (dub/reggae snare=WoW) I've tried it on all of them. If your looking on the cheaper side Hardwire Supernatural is great at ambient sound scape too.

Tristan, thanks for chiming in. You have the Timeline and Mobius as well, right? Are you using a midi controller with them? I decided on the Bigsky, just am trying to avoid the additional shipping thru ordering direct, but it looks like everyone else it out of stock.
