Strymon Ojai Noise?

I bought the Ojai so I wouldn't need to plug my Timeline in separately, but it makes noise in my signal. If I plug it into its own power supply, it's totally quiet. It's kind of a high-pitched hum or something. People say the same thing happens with their OneSpot power supplies. Am I stuck using the Timelines own power supply?

Contact strymon.

Thanks. I would never have thought of that myself :student: Actually, I did this past Friday but no one has responded. I'm assuming they're closed on the weekends.

Are you daisy-chaining any pedals at all? That can add noise, short of that I'm stumped. Per the Strymon site, it should work great.

I'm using a Dimebag wah, TC Polytune, Klon KTR, and Strymon Timefactor. All quiet pedals otherwise. When I put the Timeline on it's own power supply, it's quiet.

Then how else do you connect all of your pedals to your amp input? The amp it's plugged into doesn't have an FX loop.

It's not recommended to daisy chain digital pedals.

I wanster things your power supply is like a one spot which it is not. Every output on the ojai is isolated. Unless strymon says differently this may just be a symptom of using digital pedals. Hooking the pedals together is not an issue typically. Its when you daisy chain the power from pedal to pedal that you can have issues or even failures. Has strymon contacted you yet?

What do you mean daisy chain? You mean connecting the pedals with patch cables or using one power output to power more than one pedal? If you mean by daisy chaining the power then no. I have each pedal plugged in separately.

Yes he meant daisy chaining off of one power outlet.

I used a Timeline with my Cioks DC-10 and I get no noise at all.

I figured it out because yesterday I brought home a Mobius and it was dead quiet. I noticed that the Ojai was a more snug fit and does not insert completely into the power input hole of my timeline, but the power adapter goes a bit further. Then I looked inside the power plug hole and saw there was something that looked like a tiny piece of foil or chrome film or something of metallic material, so I blew it out and got a better fit with my Ojai. Then the noise completely went away. I have all five pedals plugged into my Ojai and it's dead quiet. In fact, I'm getting a much better signal than I was with my One Spot.
