Well, says one Nebraska congresscritter. I agree it is kinda stupid though. And a waste of money.

Should have just left all the original names alone imho. Keeping the losers' names around to remind us of what NOT to do.
Not as a celebration of it.

I don't think they should have been changed either, but at this point it's just a waste of money.

I suppose government installations "Renamed" after DEI fucks could be changed but I don't think changing it to confederate generals makes any sense.
 
I respect you guys's opinion, but on the "waste of money" scale this doesn't seem that bad to me.

Well it wouldn’t be that bad if it was something that mattered. And renaming buildings after confederate generals is really just trolling. I don’t want to pay to troll. I want him to focus on eliminating the ATF and about a million other things.
 
I think it's important to not forget our history, both the good and the bad. But, people's attention span these days might make this a moot point? I think it depends on the context, it shouldn't be celebratory, it should be in reverence to who died because they were on the wrong side of history, as a reminder to us all to stay on the correct side. Memory hole-ing our past will not make past atrocities go away. Changing names because of feelings is a weird take imho but that's just me.

Yeah i get what you are saying, there are def a ton of things more important than this.

Undoing demo activities can be expensive but i agree, that's a waste. I imagine locals in the areas are celebrating but that's about it.
Now renaming a military base "Jerry", i could get behind that.
