I dunno though, maybe it makes people feel safe, even when they’re being abused?

You're right. The abuse here in Australia is awful. How do we go on.

If every time some piece of shit murdered someone, robbed someone at gun point, raped someone, shot up a school, used drones or missiles to terrorize someone or commit a violent crime, they were summarily executed, like they should be, it wouldn't be an issue.

I absolutely support this.
I fail to see how throwing tax payer money at unreformable criminals to exist in a concrete hole makes any sense. Put that into education for underprivileged kids, single mums etc...

power or fear does foster respect. Self control does as well. All goes back to the family-education-and God. For me anyway. Also I have never gotten in a fight at a gun range so.....After working in a prison for 22 years the common string for the probably 90% of the inmates were the three things I mentioned. But hey-wtf do I know?

I'd like to get into guns, but I'm at least smart enough to know I shouldn't have one. What would interest me the most is building and wrenching and swapping parts. The shooting targets aspect to me is kind of meh. I think archery would be more my style. But I can't really get into another hobby. I go full tard when I get into something, so I have to be careful.
kid is good-

Target shooting is a blast. Many different varieties. I enjoy the training from the more tactical side. Training is good because you revert to it naturally in a stressful situation. Training can save you. Training and conditioning can also put you in a bad spot as well. My family knows it’s not a good idea to scare me because I might do something dumb accidentally. The thing about guns is they can lead into many different areas. Building and modifying. Hunting and possibly archery. Skeet. Reloading…etc…hell even collecting. Like I said before it’s cultural. As a hillbilly from WV, I’m going to have a different view than someone from Boston, Chicago or LA….they are a part of our lives here. My grandparents raised me on roughly a $700/month income so hunting and gardening were pretty important for us. Fishing also. Modern day foraging…lol…just how it was. And you didn’t waste ammunition and you took care of your shit.
I'd love to live there man. I do better around hillbillies. Hate New England, always hated it.

I was trying to figure out if you worked at a prison or were in the prison, or both.

Not much difference between the two. I retired January 1, 2022 or 2023…?
Since retiring every day is like groundhogs day…lol
