Stupid Question - Anyone ever cover Rebel Yell? need raygun

Dumb question as I said, is there any good way to cover the Raygun effect with no whammy in Rebel Yell? I have the Boss GT10, there has gotta be a half decent way. Any advice?
 
i play that song 3x a week in a side cover band.... great tune! right before the verse chord progression , you have the D , A , B chords. as i let the B chord ring out , i slide up to the B note ( octave higher ) on the D string ( 9th fret ) and because i have my solo boost on w/ a hint of delay when i do this..i do my best EVH pickslide. simple enough. as far as the solo , i just improvise , so whatever you feel comfortable doing. :thumbsup:
 
Relax the tension of the strings with the trem bar, with your fretting hand, push the strings into the gap between the pickups repeatedly, beyond the 22/24 fret. Gradually release the trem bar as you do this.

Make sure you have tons of gain too. :D
 
My band does this song as well. Fun to play. On my G-Sysetm I use the Vibrato effect with the mix set at 100% I set the speed to match the speed of the effect in the song which is kind of fast. On my G-system it's about 14.5 Hz. I hit a pinch harmonic at the 9th fret of the G string turn on the Vibrato and bam. Instant Ray Gun. Here's a soundclip of me doing the solo using the Vibrato effect on my G-system for the "Ray Gun" parts. Excuse the sound quality and sloppy playing. Takes about 6-7 seconds before the clip starts.

Thanks to all for the advice, unfortunately don't have a bar on the guitar I have to use for this so that trick is out, but thanks Mike and Mark for the suggestions. victim5150's advice worked perfectly. Set the Vibrato effect up on max and whammo, ray gun effect. Thanks for the sound clip too! Again thanks to everyone, I appreciate all the suggestions. :thumbsup:

I just rock the pickup selector switch back and forth at lightening speed with the neck pickup vol off (LP or PRS SC) ala Ace Frehley. :)
