Suggest a good 2x12

Engl Pro 2x12 is super good for hard rock and metal I forgot to say. But expensive. Very heavy for a 2x12 too. All Engl Pro cabs are heavy because of the thick and dense Siberian birch they use. My Pro 4x12 weighs 122lbs! Much heavier than a Mesa or Marshall but smaller as well.

I've had quite a pleasant journey with Mesa, ENGL, Diezel, Elmwood and Rivera cabs.
They are all built with very high quality and attention to detail.
So I would say, find out your speaker of choice and let your wallet and gut decide.

I kinda feel you can't go wrong with any of these (or other high end mentions above in this thread)

Happy hunting! :)

I have a Port City OS 2x12 and it sounds huge. I just loaded it up with some Creambacks, but they still have to break in.

I have a Cornford Richie Kotzen 2x12 that I love, but I wouldn't mind checking out the CAA one and the Stoneage too.

I have a bogner os212 loaded with creambacks, 1 65 and 1 75. It's pretty tits.

VHT/Fryette 212 FatBottom. Traditionally it's been offered with the p50e speakers but they've been having problems with the speakers blowing out and now I believe they're coming with the Fane F70 speakers. I've heard great things about them.

I love my (Alf) Hermida Audio ported 2x12 with Vintage 30's.
Unfortunately I don't know if he's making cabs anymore. :aww:
Very compact, light and sounds huge. I've used it on countless gigs.

I have a scumback cab. Good stuff.

If I were to buy something new I'd go stoneage. Buying something used, probably Mesa.

My Avatar vintage style oversized 2x12 is a great cabinet and very hard to beat for the price.

I'm always a fan of the custom audio 2x12's. They're a reasonably small size for a big sounding 2x12 cab. The port city are the biggest sounding, but they're also bigger cabs.

I agree. Mine's loaded with Scumbacks and sounds nearly as big as my 4x12's.

ive got an avatar big 2x12 with hellatone V30s-sounds huge. Also a smaller splawn (had for 10+ years). Both are loaded w/V30s, but sound very different. Have to crank the amp more with the splawn cab to get the volume of the bigger avatar. I'm experimenting with both cabs through a friedman smallbox and Mesa Boogie Trans Atlantic. The amp you're using may benefit from the volume difference-cranking the volume. The bigger 2x12s seem to be closer to a 4x12 from air movement. I also had a Bogner 2x12 (pretty close the avatar for more $).
