This was given to me by a customer who's son gave up playing years ago and it had supposedly been sitting for 3 years.

Alder body with maple top. Neck is maple with rosewood board.
Neck is a bolt and bridge is a floyd.

I've got a DD/59 set in the Eclipse and a BBQ-TexMex-TexMex set up on my Strat.
Just looking for another option tonally.
No EMGs or other actives at all please.

I'm just looking for awesome just outright NASTY high gain rhythms with a lot of output from the bridge and liquid sustain style leads from the neck.
I'm not looking to spend the cash on BKPs.
Cleans don't matter as this guitar would just be a dedicated shredder/metal machine.

Let me know what you guys think.

I like the SD Distortion for my Alder Charvel, can get real gainy but cleans up well and it is punchy. SD Jazz in the neck for that nice hold it wide vibrato lead tone. Or Evo.

I have my Kelly with SD Custom and a SD 59. It used to have EMGs and I prefer it with passives now.

Duncan parallel axis distortion for the bridge, the most killer metal pickup that no one knows about, pair it with a duncan distortion neck model or a parallel axis neck.

Dimarzio X2N in bridge and neck  a buddy of mine has his guitar set up like this and it is actually surprisingly versatile, even though you mentioned you don't care about versatility   I'm thinking about replacing my SDs with these.

another for the SD SH-6 in the bridge and your choice in the neck.

Actually yeah I was thinking that plus maybe a full shred neck?

While that'd be the most practical, I'm looking for something way more brootz than the JB.

I want to be able to plug into my clean channel and play shred it needs to be that nasty.

The greatest recordings have all been with SD, Marzio, EMG, or Burstbbuckers......this should tell you something. No need to break the bank on pups or sweat it, there are more pressing things to think about.

You want stupid gain then read the boost threads.

My two cents.

Good point I guess.
I'm not looking to break the bank, I just want this guitar to be a totally different flavor than my others ya know?

I would say Anderson H3 in the neck H1 int he bridge, probably $75, great greta pickups !

My rec as well, only I think the OP would prefer the H3+

I would say it would depend on the amp your going to use it with. An amp that has a grip of gain on tap doesn't need a high out put pickup to bring the goods. What kind of amp are you going to plug into?

Randall RM50, Randall RG100ES, Blackstar HT-5, JCM 800 2210.

I have a TS-808.
I guess output isn't as important as just a metal voicing, or at least an intended metal voicing.

I'm not a metal guy at all honestly, I just want this guitar to be a total metal guitar.

I just did the math and my GF's and my Anniversary/ValentinesDay/Her birthday are ALL coming up within the next month. So for now I'll just throw the extra 490T I've got in there (will be at least better than the Duncan Designed) and wait a few months cuz my money is beyond spoken for.

I forgot about andersons!
I think this sounds like a GREAT choice.

I have an alder LTD that came with the SD JB (OK is guess, I don't get along with JB's), I replaced it with a Custom Custom (had annoying mid-range "honk" that I couldn't dial out), and I now have a SD Distortion (full of win) in it

So, SD Distortion IMO for bridge. Either SD Jazz or '59, prolly Jazz, for neck and I'd be set
