Hi! Just wondering if people here have an opinion about a boost pedal and a reverb one for a Splawn Competition ?
I really Like the default setting on the Spalwn, but would want to add a boost in front end of it for leads... any Ideas on a good one?
( I Used to have a Banzai cold Fusion...sigh, that I think would have been great.)

I also need a killer reverb that likes that Loop. I use an Old Rocktron Intellifex,, but I think I wanty something with a better dry pass thru signal, maybe more spring reverb like?

Thanx in advance!

I personally don't think you can go wrong with the maxon OD808, I love it...Doesn't color your tone that I can tell, and just adds a nice..well...boost :) tightens everything up, adds more saturation, just the perfect little kick. Im growing quite accustomed to leaving it on all the time personally.

I ran a Holy Grail in the loop of my Quick Rod.... for about three minutes. Noisiest POS I ever heard. I now have a Digitech Hardwire Reverb that works very nice. Also settled on a Barber Small Fry for boost.

RV5 works really well as well as a DD3 or DD7 if you want a delay pedal. As far as boosts go, I like the Analogman Beano Boost and the Xotic EP Booster.

I've used the OD808 for years with my QR. I've tried other OD pedals, and always go back to this one.
Don't use reverb so I can't make any suggestions there.

Love my Xotic BB with the QR, it's especially great for juicing leads without adding a mid hump.

I personally prefer a dash of delay over verb, cant help there...

bb preamp for all around overdrive (more marshally type sound and a bit more compression)
or Maxon OD-820 for tubescreamer type overdrive

I really liked the BBE Green Screamer with the Competition. Fairly cheap too.
