I currently have an Aldrich in my Les Paul. Any of you guys use an Afwayu in a Paul?

How would it differ?

I had a set of Afwayu's in a Les Paul and I loved the neck but not so much on the bridge. In the neck though it was big and thick sounding!

I had an Afwayu in my LP Cutom bridge position. Didn't like it. While it sounded big, as in had a very authoritative meaty presence, it was also quite dark and muddy.

Well said, I agree  Not putting down Wade by any means. He makes some awesome pickups and he's a great guy to deal with!!

I compared the Aldrich and Afwayu in my PRS SC 250 the other day. They aren't too different sounding in this guitar, but I preferred the Afwayu. Much more aggressive in the mids than the Aldrich. My PRS was too dark with the stock pup and lacked the agressiveness I wanted. The Afwayu fixed it perfectly. The Aldrich was more compressed. I'm going to try the Aldich in my R8 to see if it works better for me in that guitar.

Not a Les Paul and I've never played an Afwayu, but I LOVE the Aldrich in my Stratocaster. Probably my favorite humbucker I've ever used. On any guitar. I do dig the Super Distortion and Duncan Distortion, but the Aldrich is killer.

I found similar with my LP studio I used to have with an Afwayu. I have Aldrich pickups in my other 2 Les Pauls. The Afwayu sounded more aggressive than the Aldrich and just lacked the clarity that I love about the Aldrich.

Afwayu = in my LP

It was Aggressive mud.

It might have better apps....but not in LP imo....

Sidenote: LP loves the BKP Holy Diver - thick singing and oh so neaty...
