Whoa. Heavy. I dig my modern satin.

Fantastic guitars

Really nice guitar, but the playing is mind blowing
Well done James

That was really a cool demo, nice work. Amp sounds good also. -Jim

Great work. Have you played other Suhrs? If so, can you elaborate on the satin? I have owned nine Suhs and as nice as they all were I could never bond with a modern. Had six Moderns. My last one was loaded and MAP cost was 455o. Killer 3A neck and board. I have owned Alder body and mahogany. mahogany necks also and pao ferro board. I had some incredible ones. I bonded with a Standard that I have owned for a good while now. Always looking and the satins are cheaper.

That was f'n badasss. Great playing and I dug the tune…

If I bought a guitar couple of times and didn't bond, I think I'd just say they were not for me and move on… But 6? I think it's safe to say you are never bonding with a Modern… :)

Had a lot enjoyment with them but just never bonded like I did with my Standard.

Is this you also OP? Killer phrasing  Of course you played other Suhrs. Doh. Can you compare the satin James?

Thank you very much for being so kind guys.

Yes, that is in fact me! I did that demo 'modern satin unleashed' last year at Suhr, it was good fun.

I love the Modern series, but I appreciate it's may not be for everyone. It took me a little getting used to the 'twisted over' body shape. I also have a standard that tone-wise, achieves things that I've never heard in another guitar (including my personal custom Modern). It's a truly special guitar.

The Satin guitars are really cool. I gave it the ultimate test by demoing it in a range of styles, and used it live at the Suhr Factory Party just passed. You can find that video on youtube too if you would like to hear it. Naturally it has a lighter feel, and is more 'woody' to the touch and sound, because of the satin finish. It doesn't feel like a big heavy shiny custom modern, but it resonates beautifully. They have built the best medium of specifications into it to make it as affordable, but versatile as possible. I like the look of both series, the satin wood finish looks great, and I like the HH option. The cherry looks a little more flash with the HSH and zebra pickups. A neat touch!

I have one of the first round Satins, and just wanted to say that I feel your description is dead-on. Took the words right out of my mouth. I have three other more expensive Custom Moderns, and I can honestly say that the Satin is probably my favorite on any given day for the reasons that you described. Seeing you demo the Cherry Satin makes me want to pick up one of those, even though I really don't need one! ;) Great job on the video.
