there are a million pretty women out there,

but one who can play the guitar, as well as paint it stylishly, sing like a bird and write her own songs, and the kicker for me,

surf....

when she is really ready for a new challenge tell her to pick up a skimboard. more waves per session, keeps the board riding balance up when the swell isn't massive, more social hanging out with friends on the shore waiting for waves... here is footage i shot of my friend, 14+ time world champ bill bryan, in laguna

I am like you in that I don't usually like Graphic style guitars but I think that guitar looks fantastic. You GF has such a killer style that is easily recognisable now that I've seen some of her work. I think having a particular style is just as tough/amazing as having the artistic talent to do what she does. There are artist who spend years to find there niche and never do which says a lot IMHO.

I dig it :thumbsup: :rock:

Not typically a fan of the graphic axes, but her style is cool and unique.

It doesn't suck to be Pete Thorn. :rock:

She usually surfs Topanga, sometimes Venice or El Porto, sometimes San Clemente if she's up for the drive- she lived on the North Shore of Oahu for 3 years, so she's not afraid of the big waves... California pretty much blows compared to there, as you know! She's a charger, she kicks most of the guy's asses all day long....

growing up on Oahu i was totally into surfing town/sponging and bodysurfing sandy's and makapu'u--this is the view from the house i grew up in--sunset over waikiki skyline, diamond head to the left, 10 minutes to the beach

but these days it's skimboarding all the way. i'm an hour and change from the capital of skimboarding, aliso beach in laguna, i got hooked in 92 and haven't looked back, and now my kids have the fever:

the ultimate socal skim spot is the wedge because of it's sidewash connection

seriously if she's into crushing waves and charging and not afraid to take some dirt naps at first, i guarantee she'd be into skimming once she got the hang of it. here are some LA county spots and the skimonline site is the top resource for all things skim:

and given her looks/profession, the big skimboard companies like victoria and exile would probably give her a board for a photo op-- she should try custom skimboard art for those companies. i know the owners..just saying.

Great looking graphic, wasn't a big fan of graphics on guitars but this works - classy.
 
Pete--that guitar is STUNNING!! Tell Trisha she did an incredible job. You probably don't remember me but me & my lady met you at the Mr. Big show at HOB Hollywood a while back and jawed gear and art for a while. You and I are gear hounds and our ladies are the artistic ones. Was right after we'd both reviewed the BOSS ST-2 Power Stack. Anyhow, great to see the final product. Well done!!
