Looks tight, but I don't like the reverse headstock. Eh...to each their own. :)

I personally have fallen in love with Andy's new Suhr. Such a nice ride.

I know I posted at HCAF but that neck really is pretty! If I go the Suhr route someday it will be the Modern for sure.

looks very cool

i wouldn't go for the reverse headstock too and i don't get the idea behind Sperzels and lockung nut

Seeing your hair in the "show yourself" topic, I totally understand the reverse headstock thing! No hair in the tuners.

How do you find the single coil to balance with the humbucker ? Is the output difference an issue ?

Thats a good question, im still trying to decide what single to use. they dont really offer a higher output single coil. I guess worst case Ill just get a Duncan Hotrail.

 it has mojo in spades too!

in regards to the white modern, have you thought about the neck pickup in which one you might go with? i know ron thal gets sick neck pickup tone out of his in his vigiers and those are 24 frets as well (keep in mind the pickup placement when choosing)

I'd get a solid Mahoganey body.

+1. Maple cap on swamp ash is going to be bright.

BUT he is tuning to c standard, if he intends to only play the ride tuned to the basement the bright woods could make the guitar cut through a dense mix in super low tuning. i know my prs which has mahogany body and neck with maple top, turns mushy when tuned to drop c or lower. only one way to know for sure. maybe a compromise like alder with maple cap

I'd go with mahogany as well. I'd actually rather have a Standard model, but that Modern looks pretty slick.

I have to side with the disease ffffffffrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeeeeeeee AW on this one, tuned down I am wanting some brighter woods to hold it together. I am going with the Suhr endorser

I hate when people say you need bright woods to tune down, it makes no sense at all. Most people that say that don't even play in lower tunings much at all. If you want a brighter sound, then yeah, go for some brighter woods, but mahogany sounds by far the best in low tunings IMO and a ton of the best low tuned guitar tones have been recorded with mahogany guitars.

hey everyone has what they like, i was just saying what i prefer. i had a maple BODIED strat, it was ok in standard but you put in drop c or lower and it came alive, where as my prs (normally what the kids like to drop tune) just kinda got lost live when we played a dream theater tune that was tuned to c standard. im just talking my experince with my hands, amps etc. its all preference yo ;)
