An old subject but how do the M 5,6,7 guitars compare? I have had five Suhrs and my favorite so far is the Standard in my sig. I prefer the C neck shape over the elliptical or GG. The Standard I own is also heavier than the four Moderns I owned. The board seems a little wider to me comparing the 1.650. I do like the Quartersawn maple neck over the roasted or Mahogany. Anyone play any of the Pro 5,6. or 7 flame tops?

I have two S2's (Alder bodies & quartersawn, solid maple necks). They feel and sound great and they come with the pickups and features I want for a great price. I tried the S4 (Basswood w/maple Top) and it was a little too midrangy to my ears. it was a beautiful guitar but wasnt as punchy as my S2's.

I've been jonesing for a Modern lately, but I can't put my brain around the elliptical shape. Would love to be able to play some so I could get an idea of the tone and feel. I just don't want to lose money on a purchase if I dont like it.

I like the feel of the Solid maple necks. I would have liked to try one with the solid maple neck. My Standard is solid Alder with the ebony board. I normally do not prefer ebony but this ebony is excellent.
