Heya Rig Talkers, was fun meeting some of you while walking around NAMM yesterday! Friday was super busy, the most crowded I can remember a NAMM show being.

Proud to say that Suhr has released the PT100SE amp, it's a standard production model now it's available and shipping to dealers now, we put together this demo... hope you dig:

I'm sure the people who paid top dollar for the limited edition one will be very happy about that

I said it on FB and I'll say it here, eff that amp (only kidding, it sounds terrific) I want that guitar!

is this the same exact amp as that PT100 that released a limited number?

,,,this video also shows off Pete's new Thronbuckers.

As far as people who bought the Limited Sig,they all knew this would turn into a production run.
I doubt anyone was upset about owning a limited run amp/cab

From Pete:

I'm really happy about the price. This is the same amp as last year's limited one, features-wise and the tone is identical. And it's $200 less list, than the original CAA PT was, when it started selling in 2008! I feel like it's feature packed and does more, better, than many competing amps that cost $500-$1000 more.

The only change we made was cosmetics-the new midnight blue panels... Knobs/switches etc. I really dig the look.

Thanks for saying, and here's a quote/explanation from John Suhr re:price difference on the new standard version of the head:

"Due to RoHS regulations some elements needed to be changed in the design of the switching and logic. We need RoHS to be compliant with regulations in Europe. Since a complete redesign of the PCB was a necessity we put a lot of effort in to making the amp easier to build at the same time. Along with that comes a savings. Naturally we could have left the price as it was but decided to pass those savings on to the consumer."

I have an early PT100 and am now looking forward to acquiring the latest version as I love the one I have! Three channels and Midi would be worth it alone.

$200 less is nice, I am looking fwd to checking this one out!

That vid had a great cross section of tones. Really dug the rhythm tones having some looseness and squish in the low end. So may new channel switchers are about tight, tight, tight! and so much great rock isn't all that tight. Of course as long as you can dial in the tight when you want it.
Cosmetically it doesn't set me on fire, but no Suhr ever has. Overall sounds like a very fruitful collaboration...

Cool.

Is there going to be a PT100 SE+?

<coming from the guy who, when he buys an expensive amp, its soon replaced by a better version, rendering my current amp less valuable>

How many revisions so far? Probably a good chance.
