So I was walking in to the Kalamazoo GC last week. My first stop is always the high end used wall.

I looked up and I couldn't believe my eyes!!!

It was a silver hologram sparkle Heritage Mark Slaughter "ROCK" model!!!!

My first thought was..."it has to be a refin!" I had them pull it down and I looked inside the control cavity...nope....not a refin!!! The Heritage label simply said....MARK SLAUGHTER, and the serial #

I put it back on the wall and went home. I got on my laptop and started searching for pics of Mark and his guitars and found these.....

I called GC and immediately put it on layaway!!! (unfortunately its on police hold until December 14th)

I reached out to Mark recently, asking him if in fact this was his guitar. He replied back to me yesterday. He said it was his personal guitar. We haven't gotten into and details yet on the whole history of the guitar....he is currently on tour, so he is probably busy.

I have ordered some new parts for it to bring it back to factory original....black tuners, black bridge/tailpiece. The pickups and electronics appear to be original. I even ordered a custom replica of the original Mark Slaughter truss rod cover that came on it from the factory .

Nice score! One of his personal guitars; wonder how it ended up there?

Congrats!

cool find... I bought one of his wizard vc combos from a nashville pawn shop in the late 90s for 900 bucks lol

Cool guitar. Mark seems like a nice guy.

On a sad note, Tim Kelly was from my town and he is buried here right next to park with multiple soccer fields. Every time my daughter plays there I glance over and think about him.

That’s coolio! Let us know what history you manage to uncover please.

Mark invited me to come backstage at an upcoming show to meet him and check out the guitar!!!

Should be a good time!

That's really cool I recently found a rare artist guitar for next to nothing from 1989. I love finding stuff like this where no one knows what they actually have and you get yourself an amazing piece of history for the price of a entry level new guitar.

very unique guitar. The top half looks like a Washburn HM20V.

One of these things.

Very cool! As a WMU grad, I spent some time down there in Kzoo. I wonder if it ended up at the Heritage factory and they sold it?
