Supreme Court and LGBTQ Rights

There are always workarounds and easily manufactured loopholes. I am also not saying that the court will produce a decision that allows discrimination against protected classes and reverses 60 years of progress on civil liberties and civil rights.

But this case isn't about that and the above scenario may never happen.

Thank you for respectfully and thoughtfully commenting. Doing so speaks volumes about you.
We live in the social media era now. There’s definitely already someone on top of this. I wouldn’t be surprised if there are stories this week where the scenarios described here play out.

I appreciated your gentlemanly response. I know I wrestle in the mud around here with the pigs and often get mud on me, but my opposable thumbs allow me to get out of the pen.

Suppose you ran an auto body shop instead and did custom paint work. Would you want the government to mandate that you airbrush a quote from the Christian Bible in a Roman Catholic Priest's car? Suppose that quote was "Jesus said 'let the little children come to me"?
I think the collective feeling here can be summed up as “this isn’t the win any proponent of this thinks it is”. And by “proponent” I mean anyone who’s out there blindly cheering this on.

Wouldn't matter to me. My business would serve the public.

The priest would probably request something more like "Jesus let me cum in the children" though so I'd refuse that.

I don't think there should be protected classes. The constitution says we are all equal. That's all we need.

IMO their ruling on affirmative action was correct

It will happen
With regards to protected classes, the protected classes are categories such as race. A statute prohibiting discrimination against race would include discriminating against people due to being white just as much as it does discrimination against blacks. An argument could be made that various affirmative action programs violate that prohibition. There is inconsistency and contradiction in law and in the execution of law; there is no denying that.
