Sure SM7B top?

Great for voice-over, great for guitar, great for tom, snare etc. It's classic for good reason. Not that transparent but with a upper-mid presence that make things get out of the mix just like a sm57 but with a better bass response and smoother pattern. Close to SM57 nonetheless.
 
I haven't used mine much since I got it. I'm going to try it out on vocals real soon. I got it because it's supposed to be good for everything, but I just haven't worked it into the mix yet. Next time I record a real guitar rig, it'll get used, but this round is a Helix.

It did record kazoo really well.
 
I know quite a few producers on the metal side thay use the sm7b for just about every record they do for vocals, period. You should be fine.
