So for my newly Dan Gower modded JMP i ordered a matched quartet of SED Winged C EL34's upon the mod masters advice.

It seems the ones I got is Svetlana branded. What is the difference? Should I send them back and get SED's instead? The vender made a big deal out of telling these was the original winged C... i'm after tone tho.

Hey Jonas,

Those are definitely the real ones. The Svetlana (New Sensor) tubes do not have the =C= logo on them.

Cheers!
Dan

Ah great to hear, so no sweat :)

They are bought at a Danish dealer. I guess they get the orig. svetlana branded ones then.

Gonna install them tomorrow and re-bias.

Ill snap a few extra shots when i get home of the top and bottom.

The tube interior looks familiar, but I have never seen a Winged C tube with black markings like that. More like this:

Many of the Winged C SED's in the Uk and Europe have black markings. The tube in the photo IS a real SED.

Jofipe, IMO you're wasting your $$$ on the SED Winged =C= EL34 - they are NOT worth $40, each. If you haven't used them much if at all I would seriously return them and get the big bottle Ruby EL34BSTR. The Ruby big bottle EL34BSTR (at half the $$$) is a much more rugged PT and richer sounding harmonically with more complex dynamics in the mid-upper range than the SED Winged =C= EL34.

I've been through all PT worth mentioning here, believe me...your choice.

Good luck.

Thanks :)

Ill stick to these tho... after all this was what the modder recommended.

Just talked to the dealer. He says this IS from the svetlana/SED factory. Black markings are on the newer ones as opposed to gold marking, which was on the old ones.

Cheers all for your inputs!

Have plenty of these and mine all look like this version. I ain't saying they are more real than the ones posted but I have bought each quad from multiple sources.

Svetlana can't use the Svetlana name in North America only, they can use it everywhere else. Those tubes are real. Real SED/Svetlana tubes have welded plates like those. The Sovtek Branded Svetlana Tubes have stapled plates.
