Swapped out the TA single coils and H2 for an original set of Ultra Sonics and an H2+. The guitar sounds soooooo much better with the H2+ in the bridge. I really like the tones I'm getting from the Ultra Sonics too, especially in split. I play through an Axe FX II so they're perfect for processed sounds like they were mainly used for back in the good ol' 80's.

The Pro Am is the exact guitar featured on the Anderson site. I was lucky enough to track down the original owner a few months ago and was able to buy it from him after looking everywhere for a bowling ball. Its 25 years old ( 7-19-88 )and almost in perfect condition except for a few little chips, but you can hardly notice them with the finish. It doesn't even have neck pocket cracks after all these years.

Heres all 3 of my TAs. The other two Drop Tops have HN3+ in the bridge.

That is awesome! I love your TAG family and equally like the H2+ too.

I'll add my family to yours (minus the Metallic Green Classic. Hope to add a Raven next year):

Nice, that Pro-Am is awesome. I just put an HN3+ and H1 into Jackson Rhoads and they are awesome pick ups, the HN3+ definitely lives up to it's nickname, the flamethrower.

i wonder if any one has ever swapped their neck from a pro am or drop top with a 25.5 scale and put it on a bulldog? Just got me thinking while i was looking at your photos!

I also want to know how HN3+ is compared to H3 and h2+, H3 has been my main and favorite pickup to my charvel for some time (before that a H2+ and h3+ which are on my other guitars) but I can find a hn3+ locally and I'm tempted to try it... :)

Not sure but if anyone has an H2+, H3, or H3+ I've got an HN3+ that I'd like to trade.

The HN3+ is supposed to be the hottest output pickup Tom makes and I believe has more mids than lower end.

As a TA collector, if you ever come across an odd Tele shaped Grand Am HSS config with Floyd and a slanted H, with the switcheroo config in a mint green, pm me. It comes from the first run in Nov '86 but will have a new headstock with matching paint and be Feitened. I sold that awhile ago and would love to find it again. Tom built that neck for me, himself. It looks like a Kramer, with an Anderson neck, but it is an Anderson. I would love to know where it is now. Beautiful collection. I especially love the bowling ball with the Ultrasonics. Those are hard to find these days.

Glad you like the H2+!

Looks like there was a fire at the bowling ally - that guitar is awesome! - totally Mad Max, with Anderson quality and playability.

When I bought my first Rand on 48th St in the late 80's, I played an Anderson just like (it had all Ultrsonics from the factory) that and loved it. I would have bought it had I not played the Rands right afterward. Ironically I came to find out (well after that day) that Tom actually built the Rand guitar bodies and necks, and most of them came with Anderson electronics.

Cool score and nice TA collection!
