IMHO a fender strat with s/s/h is the swiss army of guitars. However if you already have a LP and Superstrat's/Charvel's etc... a Peavey Wolfgang would fill the VOID nicely, but I would get one with a floyd.
This

My RGA121 (hardtail) Ibanez Prestige.

Two humbuckers with coil tapping on both pickups. Ridiculous amount of tones on those things.

Two players came to my rehearsal last night and all they did all night was ask me about my guitar. "What are those pickups? how do you get all those tones? Where do I get an Ibanez like that with a mahogany body with a maple cap? Do they still make them? Do they make unpainted versions like that still?" Etc..........

GREAT guitar.

You beat me to it. I have WCR Ironman pups with A5 magnets in mine, and I have have the new style wiring with parallel coils in switch position 4, and single coil in switch position 2. I will never part with this guitar. It has the best bridge I have ever seen, and I have added locking tuners, and a tonepros bridge. Simply amazing guitar, and reasonably priced. I really like the matt finish as well since it doesn't get finger prints

 Sorry if my post doesn't make much sense...I just found a place to buy mead...it is great :cheers2:

What kind of locking tuners did you put on yours? Which Tonepros did you put on the Ibanez?
Do you have a pic of your guitar?

By the way, I've got two of these guitars! One wasn't enough!

Here is a pic...

The tuners are just Schaler. I think they are a smaller size than standard (I put them on about 4 years ago, so my memory is a bit foggy). The it is actually an earvana nut, not tonepros (must have been the mead typing). It is just the gibson style drop in replacement nut. I can't remember the width.

I have bought, and sold a lot of guitars since I got this one, and I have not even once thought about selling my RGA121, especially after putting in the WCR pickups. I can only think of one other guitar that might give it a run for its money, and that is a Parker Nitefly-M

I had two guitars made with 3- 3 way mini toggles in a H-S-H configuration long ago similar to the Anderson.

One was a BC Rich Mockingbird and one was a neck thru 25.5" scale Carvin ( no longer made unfortunately).

Both guitars were very versatile since the Humbuckers could be dual off or single coil and the middle single was a noiseless stack which was dual -off - parallel.

So the Up position on each toggle was FAT center was OFF and Down was "THIN " and there was a phase switch which was overkill.

The guitars did a TON of sounds. More than 60 combinations from FAT to very Thin and twangy.

By the way the OP mentioned Carvin - if you get a Mahogany or Koa Body Bolt Plus or C66 - with a similar wiring scheme or a 5 way and two mini toggles - you'll have a very versatile Axe with great fretwork. You could also do the H-S-S thing in a Bolt or the other two.

I think Mahogany and Koa bodies do the Humbucker tones better than Alder and you don't lose anything in single coil modes either, a little more beef than Alder/Ash IMO.

Suhr Pro series special mahogany w/HSH config. I have 2 of them (E and Eb) and they do it all for me plus stay in tune really well.
