I’ve liked what very very little I’ve heard from these guys over the years but just never got around to explore a deep dive into their discography. Which albums are considered to be their classics and a good place to start?

When Twilight in Olympus came out I was in high school and it just blew my mind, and I still think that´s the best of their older material. They took a turn for the heavier in the back half of the 00s, and both of the clips above are from that more recent stuff, and of those I like Paradise lost the best.

The earlier stuff was more prog and more recently with the past 4 albums and Michaels solo albums it keeps getting heavier .

Underworld and Iconoclast are both really excellent so for me personally I would start there and work my way back in their catalog.

Love 'em.

Symphony X for neoclassical metal.
Planet X for what I call fusion metal.

Can't go wrong.

I'd start with Divine Wings of tragedy and V, I'd say they're a good measure of the band. Paradise lost is my personal favorite as well.
