I could get either the syn stuff (kali module and syn1) to in my MC1 loop or the full King Kong amp for comparable prices..
What would you do?

What are you using them for? I have a ton of amps, but just bought the syn with the uber and slo. I bought it because I'm a basement player now with kids, and being able to turn it down, or record is a huge plus. But, when I compare it to my real amps, it is thinner. I can get it close, but it does not have the depth that a real amp has. If I was playing at volume like I used to do, I would go with a real amp. For recording or ease of use, syn.

I have a King Kong and I love it. Covers Plexi to modded 800 tones in spades. Very angry sounding depending on pickups and speakers used with it.

The actual Cali amp is bland and boring. Tailored to low tuned and 7 string players IMO which is fine but it has that stringy sound I personally don’t like. It’s useless IMO without the violence switch engaged which is a bummer since I like my amps to at least be able to sound good with some lower gain crunch tones.

Overall it just depends on what you want to achieve. The Ceriatone covers a ton of ground and sounds awesome where the Cali is for modern low tuned metal only.

Use case is home recording but I prefer 100W - it's the only nuance affecting tone and feel that I can discern.
I'll probably trial the syn1 + kali module during the 14 day grace window and if I like it sooo much and want another amp to have with my Wizz, I'll get a Gower Jose one.

The worry with the king kong is that if I don't like it, it will hang bc these amps don't move fast enough in the current UK market..
