Synergy Marshall-type Modules Comparison - Plexi, MetroPlex, JMP, BEBB

I've been thinking about getting into the Synergy stuff for a little while now. Seems like the perfect way to build sort of the ultimate versatile and portable rig while staying analog. There are several kinds of sounds I think of as must-haves with a system like this and a plexi / vintage Marshall type tone is one of them.

Found a video of a guy comparing four modules that all seem to go for a similar kind of vintage Marshall sound.

I compared the original Plexi to the new JMP before I sold it and there is no comparison. Friedman's Plexi lacked the bite and was mid heavy. Didn't cut enough... the new JMP module does the Kerrang.

What type of heavy tones does the Plexi get to, like Dokken, Whitesnake, etc.? I'd be using a boost with it. I have the SLO-II and know that is heavier but wondering about the JMP range. I love Marshall tones so know i'll be a fan.

It has some jam with higher gain pickups but it can mush out if you crank the gain. Set the gain where it is still tight and with note separation and then hit it with a boost and you are there. So for me, default, I am getting Schenker UFO tones with an SH-5. Pretty much that wide open JMP cranked with dialed back bass and gain so it doesn't bloat out. It will become a bit of a mess much like the amp can when everything goes to ten. The only thing it is missing is a variac switch! I wish they had thought of that.

I've had the Ecstasy and wish I would have kept it. I have the Uber, IIC+, Recto and SLO and though I like the SLO (not the II but I hear they sound the same), it's the only one I probably won't keep. I play all those tones and the Ecstasy is probably my favorite but the blue channel on the Uber gets close.

I do plan on trying the BE-DLX, Kali and whatever Marshall puts out.. wouldn't mind trying the T/DLX either.

I'm finding that the Synergy experience is not good for my G.A.S. or decision-making, lol.

I really want the JMP because I don't currently have an amp that can do that old Van Halen, Plexi vibes, etc. On the other hand, love yhe idea of having a super crunch Bogner Uberschall.

I got the SLO II first because it covers so much ground and I do love it but never was a Soldano guy and never have even played one before. Got such great reviews though, I knew I'd dig it.

From the Ecstasy? They're OK. It's probably something I need to re-visit some. For higher gain sounds I mostly use the Killer Kali, Uberschall, and sometimes SLO II or IIC+.
Sorry, meant that for Kapo regarding the JMP.
