Take a look at how Musician's Friend packs and ships an amp?

I picked up this restock Marshall JVM410HJS Satriani and Musician's Friend treated her like a second class citizen. I guess if I would have picked up a new one, it would have been done right because the Marshall factory would have packed it. I'm surprised that it survived as well as it did, especially at the hands of UPS. It seems to be functional which is a testament to Marshall's build quality.

Here's the box -

The packing material inside- (or lack thereof)

The chassis that is now bent and bowed from the weight of the power transformer -

Well it traveled quite a few hundred miles with little more than a cardboard box around it and it's still rockin' and rollin'.

Unless they upped their game, you're pretty lucky that PCB didn't crack

I have seen worse packaging, but not by a big company like MF. Hope it works....

Wow....someone should be fired. I ordered a "new" 1960BX from them that arrived damaged. I sent it back and they sent me another damaged one. Someone contacted me through a RT pm and tried to make it right. But I gave up at that point and took the refund. Then they charged me for return shipping of the first one.

That's B.S. send your pics to their hq. Thats cool there was no damage!

Well, there was damage to the chassis but not enough to keep the amp from working.

My 5153 100 watt came from MF so poorly packed I was in awe that it made it to me.

*update*
The second time I went to fire it up it didn't work. Power tubes don't light up but no fuses are blown? Back in it's measly packaging and heading back to MF.

I was just thinking about ordering a used Gretsch White Falcon from them. Fuck 'em now.

I bought a guitar from them once upon a time, never again. I would never buy a thing from them again.

"Hey Fred, we're out of Styrofoam"
"No problem, just throw it in that shitty box over there and jam some paper in the side"

If your chassis was bent I'd complain to them and ask for a new one, even if it did work.

That's why I only shop on Craigslist.

At least with Musicians Friend there's very little chance of ending up buried in someone's back yard. :)

Yeah Ive decided Id rather trade my gear in to my local GC or Sam Ash than ever buy or sell on CL again.

" No, for the third time I dont want your 1980 Datsun for my amp. And the price is $1000 not $500......and no I dont need any firearms......unless you bring them and let me shoot you in your 1980 Datsun...."
