I fully understand the tongue-in-cheek aspect of this song/video but I don't think it is blatantly obvious to the majority of listeners. And that's where it's unfortunate. Not that others will take the song too seriously but they won't comprehend the satire I believe she is trying to portray. Also, I think it is amazing that this kind of music is the mainstream. I can see it existing and people enjoying it too but really, it's the popular music of today...? Funny to think into the future. You know, grandparents listen to the music they grew up on. There are going to be 90 year olds with their grandkids over, showing them the music they used to listen to. I'm 23, hopefully my grandkids will appreciate me showing them music from before I was born and the few things that are good now.

I see it like this: you have good books with real "content" and "substance." And then you have comic books. Shit doesn't have to be all serious and cerebral all the time.

So... that looks like something that would have come out of an 8th grade multi-media class project. Simply horrible. I'm all for art and creative expression but the "mainstream" has become such simply because the empty-headed generation watches the TV, which tells them, "Nicki Minaj is popular, she's so great" and because someone on TV said it then it MUST be true. Now if they could only get a spot on "16 and Pregnant" and be famous.

I find it hard to believe people like this shit and seriously...they really like it..theres no way it would be that popular even if tv said its good...even the most nonsense black/death metal is very musical compared to this.
Maybe im an alien but i prefer reading a good book than watching tv and i still think that music should be made with musical instruments to be considered music...but its just me.

I love her rant about how she's specifically toned down the sexual nature of her videos and images so that "young girls" don't think they need to look or act like that to get somewhere...Then she puts out a video like that. I'm all for the sexual shit, fuck yea...But pick a stance and stick with it.
