Here's a few little snippets of slop noodling using a Jim Dunlup 1.5mm pick ( without my name on it! LOL)..I like to hold the pick so that the point is barely visible..but then again it changes depending on what im playing. I really like eric johnsons picking technique.. i wish i wish.

I use Ultex .73's but have been fooling around with Planet Waves Black Ice picks recently.

Interesting subject to me right now. I lost the feeling in the tip of my right index finger when I was 10 and for some reason I still learned to play guitar with a pick held between my index and thumb in the standard fashion. I've always been a lousy picker and relied heavily on my left hand. So now after playing over 30 years with standard shaped Fender 351 Heavy picks I've decided to isolate my picking technique and try to get better by trying something new. I tried every pick I could get my hands on and finally ended up with the 1mm Steve Clayton Tri corner picks. Since they are larger I can feel where they are with my second finger and this seems to help with keeping them in the same place and gives me a lot more accuracy. Plus the point is more along the line of the Jazz 3s and it forces me to be more accurate as well.

I had been using Tortex 1mms for ages couldn't get anywhere farther in my picking
so i started using Jazz IIIs the black ones... been using those for years..

then i started using the tortex sharps, had a few good ones they need to be fairly heavy gauge to the don't do that pick floppy snappy thing that i hate.

ran out and i don't feel like making the trek to the store that has em.

so my local place got a bunhca tortex H3s in love those. i've got enuff to last me a few months mabye

not much of my pick is showing mostly just the very tip of it, pinch harmonics come far too easy for me. i've had to be very carful about picking.

the majority of my picking is on an angle but when i kick it up a notch in speed i tend to flatten it out subconciously

and as far as re evaluating my technique.. everytime i hear a great player that brings somethign new i ahvn't heard or done. never ending quest to get better

I use Dunlop Tortex .60mm and .73...sometimes a 1.00 like when i'm hanging with giles, cause that's what he had on hand.
