Get one but it don't mean shit without a flash freezer :dunno:

It's just me.. I'm cooking more now than ever. My Fridge is good for a weeks worth of food I think.
There's some cheap ones that would work. This one is about the size a Dishwasher..

New Appliances are pretty energy efficient, but it will still add to my Electric Bill.

Is the cost of operation worth not having more food in the house??
This thread might be better posted in the food/drink section of OT, you'll get more/better responses.
Do you have a foodsaver type of vacuum packer?
That is key to maintaining the quality of frozen foods and keeping freezer burn to a minimum.
A lot depends on what type of foods you consume and how much you will be purchasing as well as how often you will be preparing those foods.
I recommend that you post this thread in the food/drink area.
We have members here that are very knowledgeable about such matters.

Good call bro'; I'll move it now...

5 cu ft is a decent size.
What food items are you looking to freeze?
Veggies? Mostly meats? Emergency type stuff?

Reg freezer is fine for the home.
It is....

But yeah..... if we are talking about the best freezing methods...... Flash freeze is the best especially made out of German/Japanese stuff.....

But may not be the best for home use due to price and it not being practical for home use 😂

I absolutely love mine. I go get high quality meats in bulk from my butcher and if I buy wnough I get 30% off. Pretty fast that freezer paid for itself.

A second (or third) garage refrigerator/freezer is the best option. Frozen meats, ice cold liquor, cold beers. Ice and water through the door for poolside refreshment. Perfect…

^ yep, we recently got a combo fridge for the garage. Most all drinks go in there and then we use freezer for bags of ice and things we use a lot.

If you have the room, you should definitely get one. And then buy meat in bulk. Like go buy a side of beef. It's a hell of a lot cheaper.

This is the way

In basement. All meat.
