Talk to Me About ENGL

I currently own an Inferno. I had a Steve Morse for a while and a long time ago I had a Fireball 60.
I think they’re great amps and have a distinct sound, which is hard to do these days. It’s kinds of a polished, compressed sound which is different enough from my other high gains. I’m glad to have the Inferno.

I could never get over the absolute garbage build quality enough to pay import costs in the US. Paper thin boards, tiny transformers, super thin traces that probably aren’t even copper, and zero customer service for the more complicated models. Plus they need custom footswitches that aren’t run of the mill most of the time if not using MIDI.

They do a thing but it would be much better to go down the synergy route for Engl than a real Engl anything.
I love my Fireball 25 but I'll probably sell it before the Sweetwater warranty runs out. I don't want to have to deal with repairs myself.

The Artist 100w and V2 Blackmore were the best sounding ENGL's I've played - they do what they do, love it or hate it. Kinda like how 5150's or variations of those amps do their thing and folks have the same love/hate.
