Does anybody here have experience using plexiglass amp shields like the Clearsonic panels? I have a new non-mv amp (~40w) that I'd like to start gigging with but it's a bit louder than most soundmen are going to want to deal with. An attenuator is my last resort...I'd prefer another way to manage the stage volume. What are the benefits and drawbacks of the panels?

I used them at church and they worked pretty well. I had to have them put a little of my guitar in my monitor which kind of sucked because I hate the way my guitar sounds in a monitor  It was the only way to get my amp to sound good for a live recording and without blowing everyone off the stage

Sound guys just dont get it when I say "I cant turn down any lower!"

I highly recommend the Clearsonic panels. They seem to drop the level in front of the amps close to 10db. Make sure you buy the Bonamassa signature models though

My experience with them is that they kill the interaction between the guitar and the amp. So, you'll have to get your controlled feedback from your monitor. I wanted to like them, but just didn't. Granted, I wasn't using Clearsonics, I made some from stuff at Home Depot.

Another cheap quick fix is to piont your cab backwards or to the side, facing a wall. Doesn't look the coolest but it can work. :dunno:

Hehe. ..nice
