Don't need, but have opportunity to pick up 2555x and matching 4x12.

Don't need either, but price may be too good to pass up.

Maybe worth a trade. Def flip cab as don't have room for another 4x12.

Thoughts on these?
Trying to figure out where it would fit between my 2 Monomyth Superleads and my 83 2203.

Anyone looking for a mint one?

Haven't played a ton of JMPs or JCM800s, but everyone has been more raw than my 2553 silver jubilee. The advantage that the silver jubilee is its versatility, lots of tones in there and a responsive eq control.

Depending on the volume, it can easily be viewed as a 1 mode at a time amp. As its not the easiest to balance the clean and lead channels, but it can be done. The rhythm clip is cool, but also affects the lead channel in a negative way when its on and is not footswitchable.

So while I think it will be different from what you have, hard to say if its something you would use. I would say if you are getting a good enough deal, take the plunge and sell it if it doesn't get playing time.

It's a good enough deal for the head and 4x12. Pulled trigger.

Probably a long shot to keep but we'll see.

congrats. try it with greenies. One of the best combinations i have heard
Don't have any ?. Now I'm debating wether to keep my Splawn 4x12 or the Marshall (they would both have 65 creambacks on top and V30s on the bottom) if I keep either.

I live in townhouse, so no really room to keep both ? or I would ?

if it's one of the old jube cabs, then its far more interesting than even the amp lol

but jubes have their own sound. I love it tbh, but lots dont. They are weird to dial in.

The Jube cab will go well with the amp. You may not want to sell it.
The Jube will be darker and smoother than your Mono or 2203. It will sit nicely as a slightly different Marshall tone to what you already have. With a boost it’s as heavy as you want it to be. As Blackba said, great eq response where each knob really changes drastically in each direction. Great loop; and maybe the coolest feature (you can’t do this to the originals) is you can put ANY 4 or two pair of octal tubes…bias points and adjustment is on the back/top of the chassis. No removal needed.
So, you can have all KT88. Or, 2 EL34 with 2 6L6. And so on. Marshall did a great job with it. Almost spot on to the original as I A/Bd them here.

Just sold and shipped mine last week. It was my third one and I'm done trying to convince myself that I have to have one. It sounds fantastic, just glorious. BUT... my other Marshalls sound better and I'll always choose them over the 2555x. So I let it go. As cool as they look in photos or from afar, my eyes cannot make out anything on those mirror panels.

The output master is later in the circuit than the lead master. For home on the Lead channel try cranking the output master to around 6 or more and control the volume with the lead master. Then try the other way around with the lead master high and the output master low. See what you prefer. I prefer the lead master at 6ish and control the volume with the lead master, but you may find different.

It’s a Marshall, it wants to be loud and that is where it gives up the goods. To me if the output master is not high enough it can be a bit buzzy. Will never forgot taking my 2553 home after the band broke up and turned my output master from like 6 to 3.5ish. My heart just sank, it was buzzy and harsh, not singing like in the band.

For such a simple amp, lots of options. Another cool thing is to crank the input gain and control the volume with the output master on the clean channel. This will remind you most of a jcm800 and this is all tube signal path. Rhythm clip introduces diodes, as does the lead channel, which uses clipping leds, but also adds another 12ax7 gain stage.

Thanks for the input guys. Going to pick her up in a bit as it is pretty.

Going to hook them up to my DeLisle 4x4 and start Ab'ing the cabs at the very least and dial in the 2555x.

What is the going rate on these. Believe this is a 2015.

I got my first one for $999 shipped, no sales tax. That was when Sweetwater still had them at around $1299. Someone announced either here or on TGP or FB (I forget) that a place in NYC would be blowing them out on eBay for $999 BIN price at 11am the next day. I set my alarm, had two laptops open on the page and pounced the second it went live. Got it. Whatever they cost now on SW, they're always backordered. Sold my third one last week for $1900, but it was in minty condition.
