Anyone here have any experience with these? I love their acoustics and the electrics seem rather cool. Thanks..

Bump for visibility....although I'm turned on by no one having experience with these yet. I love unique guitars!

I took a tour through the Taylor shop last summer. At the end (it was around 2 hours) you get full reign of their available guitars (Had to be at least 25) I took full advantage of it, however, the few closed off rooms they had with amps were taken.

The electrics felt really nice and solid, weighted nice, and were fairly loud for something not plugged into an amp. To me, they felt like the first time I played a PRS SC, reeked of quality. Still disappointed I wasn't able to play through an amp.

personally I think they're ugly, but I'm sure they're great guitars. I have a 410CE acoustic and love it. In fact I've never heard a bad sounding Taylor... even the cheap ones.

Wrong forum dude. You meant to post this on TGP. There you shall find your clan.

I played them when they first came out around 5 or so years ago. Played and sounded fine...nothing special about them/nothing wrong with them.

Seriously?.... I hope not.. I give this site more credit than that.

Taylor's hate the desert. Nothing but problems with them here. Cracking, splitting, bridges falling off. Horrible.

I was at the Taylor Shop in El Cajon today, and was completely underwhelmed. Mind you I am a big fan of Taylor acoustics (own 2), but the new solid body electrics are so boring, bland, uninspiring.

They are showing up used at GC here. I played them new a few years ago.

As someone else said, very loud like an acoustic when unplugged. Played well. But the tone was along the lines of bland like a PRS except going farther down that road. Not everyone like the same voicing so I chalked it up to a well made guitar for some other type buyer.

I love my Taylor Grand Auditorium acoustic. An old rosewood back and sides model. Not hating on Taylor in any way. Great builder.

They are extremely well made and sound quite nice... very diverse. They make a variety of different pickups, and have an interesting plug-and-play pickguard solution where you can buy other pickguards pre-wired with different pickups and a single plug is all it takes to swap the full pickup set.

Here's our review of the 2010 model:
