Anyone have experience with it? I'm wanting a good multi effects unit, without all the amp modeling crap and gimmicks.

Just something to throw in the Splawns EFX loop for shows, without having to put togather a rack setup.

I use one in the loop of my Mark IV. I send the slave out from the Mark to the return of the Nova and then out to an SS power amp for stereo wet. I like it the more I play it. Excellent reverbs and delays. I don't love the chorus but the mod effect does a really nice chorus type effect so I'm good. With the RJM amp gizmo, it acts as a controller for the Mark as well. Highly recommended.

I use it for two things:

Either into a clean amp, as a one-stop pedal. It's great.

Into the loop of a head, where it acts as a multi-fx and a MiDI controller. Also, great.

Nothing I don't like about it. Practically.

Great sounding unit that's on the floor and simple to use. It has good input and output level adjustments to make it work with any loop. I would buy it again.
Delays and revs sound great, I use the pitch shift for a chorus sound with the fine tune adjustments and it sounds better than the chorus itself. I've been using it for a long time in the loop of all my amps with just a Phase 90 and an EP-Pre out front....it's been very reliable.

i was considering picking one up , if it did the 4cm i'd have probably bought it to be honest as i really like tc modulations/delay/verb effects, the price used seems like a bargain

things that made me rethink:

-just using it in the loop - lose out on comp/drive/certain mod effects
-use it in front of an amp - unless it's a clean amp depending on how you set your effects the delays/verbs aren't ideal in front of an amp
-effects turn on when you release the footswitch not when you hit it - no way apparantely of changing this in the options -

//
so instead i spent more on separate pedals buying a Nova repeater and a hall of fame reverb for the loop =0 , and then a separate tuner/OD/phase/compressor in front of the amp - if the nova system had 4cm it would have potentially replaced a good chunk of those pedals

as mentioned it would be a total home run if you could 4 cable with it.

as is, who knows?

would have to add up what it does vs going seperates pedals.

Add up what it does vs separate pedals? It cost less than $400 new. You can buy them very cheap used. I mean the Nova pedals were over $250 EACH. I have the Nova System and the Nova Delay, Nova Reverb, and the Nova Drive. There is no better deal than the Nova System. You don't get everything in it because then it would cost more and be called the G System.

I owned one for awhile...had to adjust i/o levels, compressor levels/values, and the footswitch release thing...ugh. It wasn't rocket science, but it took some hunting to find the right answers to my problems. Also, don't expect to rely on the manual for a ton of useful information, as it's unusually thin and (IMHO) underwritten. I'm not huge on studying a bible-thick manual, but I'd have taken one in place of that 'cliff-notes' version of one. As far as the pros, the effects sounded great. I love TC's chorusing, delay, and verb effects. But, at the end of the day, it was just more work than it was worth (for me, that is). I found an old Quadraverb lying around the studio, hooked it up, and presto-change-o... happiness...for a short while. You could find a g-force for around $650 if you look, and a super cheap midi controller and be SUPER happy. That's what I'll be doing, once I recover from my CCV gouge.

Really good system. Like other have said, works well in the loop, and can switch via a midi pedal. The other option is in front of a clean amp. No 4 cable method available. I like the delays, reverbs, and the detune (chorus is meh). The real surprise for me was how good the OD, compressor and boost was. I would have kept it, but am going all rack. Sold it to a friend who play blues/rock stuff. He uses it into the front end of his combo, and sounds great. I believe all the drives were designed by T-Rex.
