Hi all,

just registered   and alerady spamming the Forum.

I have a little Problem where I need your help.

I'm using a Midi Moose to switch through Presets on my G-Major.
It's basicly switching Channels with Reverb or Delay.

From Time to time it seems that the Gmajor did not receive the Midi Command (sometimes did not take any Midi Input for Seconds)

So I change the Preset on the Floorboard but the Preset did not change.

any Idea?

Many Thanks in advance.

Chris

There is a problem with PC midi commands with the G majors. They are just terrible at switching large patch differences from memory. I owned a G major and had the same exact problem.

The source comes from how the patches are being made, and the commands over midi that you are using to recall them. When using PC commands, the best thing to do is create a master patch that will use every single effect you can think of. When changing to another preset, copy that master patch and turn off what you do not need. This will help it recall patches faster.

With CC commands there isn't a problem or any large delay in the midi signal versus the patch change.

This should help with the recall time difference :)

hmmm alright - does the G-Major 2 have the same Problem?

I will try it the way you described and let you know. Many Thanks.

Not that I know of, I believe that was one of the fixes for the gm2. I like the way the regular G major sounds though. It is a give and take having come from the G major.

No problem, hope that helps :)

I have the gm2 and never had an issue like this so I suppose it's been fixed.

I ordered a gm2 and had the same Issue ...

The Problem was the midi-cable ....
The apporach from glpg80 reduces Latency between Preset changes, I would suggest if someone uses the gm and have Issues with Latency they should use CC as much as possible and Turn ON/Off specific Effects.

Many Thanks for your help!

Chris
