TC Gmajor or G Major 2, is the new one that much better?

Actually none of your threads answered my question. I will ask whatever questions I want, if you just want to be a dick, go troll someone else's thread.

like i said, you expect someone to spoon feed you.

you gather information about one unit. gather information about another unit. compare and contrast.

if someone told me to search the forum because one or either of the units had been discussed before, i would surely do so before making a new topic.

/end common sense.

and while you might be able to find a 3rd party editor for the original, the II has a computer-based editor available from TC themselves. That's definitely a selling point too.

here is the link to the g-major editing software thats been on this forum for years. it does not work with GM-II's software editing tool.

Love my Gmajor II, awesome unit for the money, my only gripe is when switching from certain patches, there is a very noticeable delay when switching, kinda blows to be honest, and from what i understand TC has no intention of fixing it, I've learned to just hit a switch on my Ground Control a few moments early for some patches.

I have an Axe FX Ultra as well, and I'll be perfectly honest, the effects the the Gmajor and the Axe BOTH have, are not THAT much better on the Axe unit, they are a bit more adjustable on the Axe, but, the Axe just has MORE effects, if you are just using some verbs delays and choruses, I would most definitely go with the Gmajor II, if the switching latency is going to be a major concern, I heard the Rocktron stuff is near instant. In fact, I've heard if you are only using the FX you named, ethe Rocktron units are pretty much the way to go.

Hope this helps!!!

The switching delay on the GMII has something to do with using the phaser in one of the routing options, if I remember correctly. I´ve never run into it myself.

That is the first time I have heard someone say there is lag in the GM2. I have ABSOLUTELY NO lag. I don't run the phaser in the GM2 maybe thats why. Sounds like this is in a setting/routing or maybe its something with your Ground Control (I use a Liquidfoot). I also think the spillover going from one patch to the next is very good, delays ring over nicely.

I had the G-Major and upgraded to the G-Major 2. The G-Major 1 had issues with the parameter knob, it wouldn't register properly. The noise floor of the G-Major 2 does seem to be a little higher but I'm not sure if it's just my imagination.

I've used both, and the G2 is much more user friendly than the G1 IMO. I'm the type that hates to have to dig through menus and look at manuals, but the G2 was pretty intuitive. The wah block is nice on it, and now when I use the rack I let my expression pedal double over as my wah. Also, the switching is a nice touch, being able to switch up to 3 channels on your head unit. I think the G2 is a nice upgrade over the G1 for not much more money. I gave $300 used for mine.
