I have recently learned about this cab on a digital modeling forum. Anyone here ever tried one? They seem pretty cool and the price seems nice.
Would you say it feels more natural than a flat response speaker?mentoneman":2nbkzz5c said:have one and use it weekly for my wet amp/cab for my w/d rig but i replaced the stock speaker with a scumback.
light easy to use xlr in/out ground lift.

Very cool. So you get the "real feel" on stage and you can have consistent sound direct. Nice solution.mentoneman":3s0beyuf said:JerEvil":3s0beyuf said:Would you say it feels more natural than a flat response speaker?mentoneman":3s0beyuf said:have one and use it weekly for my wet amp/cab for my w/d rig but i replaced the stock speaker with a scumback.

yes
i bought it for use with an axefx ultra, and when i just used powered monitors or an EV frfr powered wedge, the rig was missing a percussiveness and feel that you get used to as a guitar player
but when i added the tech 21 to get the other half of my stereo sound from the axe i regained that response that i don't get from impulse respones or cab sims.
but i really thought the stock speaker was lacking tone so i asked jim at scumback what to use for that amp and he sold me something that did the trick

Oh I hear ya! I just want something a little livelier than my 10" powered wedge. It's a little underwhelming.mentoneman":2x4j8955 said:JerEvil":2x4j8955 said:Very cool. yep however it is an affordable solution so don't expect total tone perfection. the eq controls are pretty limited and it isn't tube accurate rebound and dynamics. i wish i could have found a mesa simul satellite when they were common. i also wish steve fryette would put out something like a powered speaker because i love muscular the feel of his amps and he has a great ear for tone and knowledge of power amps and graphic eqs.
