The amp tech I took my amp to, couldn't replicate what I was telling him so not sure where to go from here. Maybe my house wiring is too jacked, etc but I know my wife has noticed how loud it is. I'm going to try to use my REVV G8 on just the loop and see what happens. Just is annoying and doesn't seem to be everyone having this issue.

I got my amp back and no noise like it was. Wtf? I guess he swapped tubes around but didn't fix anything with the effects loop. I don't know what the heck is going on. Maybe the footswitch is jacked up? Right now it sounds great with no hiss anymore. I'm just glad it is not as noisy but wonder why.

Sounds like it was tube related?

Check all cables, power strips, and things in your room; TV/monitors or transformers.

This is a good idea.

You could also buy an isolation transformers for a couple hundred bucks that will fully eliminate any ground noise if the electricity in your place is especially poor.

Yeah you know it might be. I think it could be a combination of a tube, wiring, etc causing an overall noise issue. I thought it was weird when the noise I heard basically jumped to another channel but then I thought, what about the footswitch?

The funny thing is that I can deal with noise to a point, as long as I know what is causing it. Some noise is ok. I'll tell you though, at least that REVV G8 is doing an amazing job.

When using the effects loop, use the best shielded cables you can find.

Also, keep them as short as possible.
