Picked up this body today! Its brand new, apparently its Chinese, but it says "IronHorse" on it...no clue what that means or if thats a decent brand. But the body sure does look good.

I've got a neck inbound as soon as I talk to a fellow forumite.

Lollar PUP's will be purchased eventually...

Yea, I heard Fralins were the way to go.

And Hoff, that's one good lookin' TAG Tele.

I just found a neat looking Tele body on CL. I'm gonna trade my Phase 90 for it!!
Will post pics when I grt it.

Now that you've found a body, I reccomend getting a really good neck to go with it.

You've probably heard it before, but I find it to be true - when swapping parts on bolt on guitars, good tone usually follows the neck.

Since you have Epi/Gibson and PRS stuff in your Sig, shoot for a neck with similar specs, and especially a 1 11/16" nut width. Some of those early MIM necks have 1 5/8" nuts and are such a pain in the ass to play.

Awesome...thanks for the info.

Its a really neat looking body, Chinese made, but supposedly up to Fender specs...we'll see...
But for the Tele's I've played I really like the fatter necks, I played a 72 Thinline Reissue at GC on time and loved that neck.
I'm really not trying to spend a whole lot on this, how much can I get a good neck for?

Look for a Warmoth neck, 59 roundback, with a 12" radius, on the Warmoth Showcase. They pop up for about $165 or so.

Just went on Warmoth's website and custom-built the ideal neck.

-Maple all the way around, any other good wood combos for a Tele??
-1 11/16" nut
-59 Roundback
-12" radius
-22 frets
**(not sure which tuners to put on)
**(also not sure about the frets, how are stainless steel frets?)
-black dots
-Graphtech nut
-4 bolt mounting holes
**(not sure about finish, vintage tint satin nitro sounds good, but its not cheap)

Looks like its gonna be around $350, which is way more than I would like to spend, but I do want a nice neck.

I'm tempted, but I'm gonna see if anyone has anything neat sittin' around first

Not sure how much you want to stay with the tele look for the neck, but I've got a MIM strat neck that's just sitting right now, with no plans for use. PM me if you think you might be interested.

Update:

I've decided to go with Lollar Vintage T's for PUP's. -- $210 for both
Getting the electronics from RS Guitarworks. -- $65
Bridge from Allparts. -- $40

So far I'm just over $300...hoping to get a pretty good deal on a neck here soon, can't wait to get this one done!

Jordan

Picking up the body tomorrow...pics to follow!!

This thing should take long to finish after that...I've got everything lined up and planned out.

Might as well pull the trigger, I tried waiting around and nothing good popped up, just plain crap necks. I ended up ording a custom Musikraft tele neck, thin neck profile, no inlays, birdseye board, quartersawn maple neck, 16" radius, 1 11/16" nut, plus other extra crap. It's gonna be niceee.

Actually found a nice American Tele neck with a rosewood board and already set up with tuners from a fellow forumite!
About to send him the cash for it actually
