Just wanting opinions on whether a dsl 50 + telecaster would get some good tones. The strat I have at the moment (albeit a cheap one with ceramic pickups) sounds very thin and icepicky at higher volumes, even on the neck pickup. Just wondering what a kickass tele would sound like?

cheers dude!

meh, it sounds okay. Clip could be a bit better though. Any famous recordings of tele + marshall rawkkk?

I have used my Tele live a bunch and it rocks! However, there's something very unique about my Tele and I don't know what it is. This guitar has a THICK and meaty tone, unlike any other Tele I've ever heard. Most Tele's are bright and twangy and I don't think they'd sound any better than your Strat.

I don't know if it's the wood, the pickups, etc..., but something makes my American Series Tele special. Even with the Fender Noiseless single coils, it's almost a thick as a Les Paul. Seriously!

Alder body, rosewood board, 6 saddle bridge...makes a huge difference.

I woulda guessed the postion of the beer bottle makes a difference :scared:

Yeah, I hear ya. I guess it's the sum of all parts, but I assure you this doesn't sound like any other Tele I've picked up or heard. It's surprising. Dark, meaty, and thick with the single coils. Still has some single coil characteristics, but kinds humbuckerish too.
I've heard quite a few Teles that fit that...

jesus H christ! that Ritchie tone is amazing! is that tele + marshall? That could be a selling point right there! I just dunno whether to drop the beans on a tele or double the price and get a les paul traditional
