Made a Telebird. Body top and back are north american cherry with epoxy resin.

The neck is north american cherry with birdseye maple.

Got em both seperate, and dead cheap. Finally got around to putting things together. I am probably just going to have this be direct to output from the bridge with nothing else. Sounds great like that currently.

Needs some tweaking and a but more work, but it is playable, and feels comfortable to play, which is a great start.

Supposed to br reminiscent of a beach scene and also like a piece of driftwood built with washed up parts (I aged them all).

Definitely the opposite of anything i thought id have but feels and sounds great! Rips and shreds thanks in part to the Planet Tone 'American Metal' tele pickup.

Badass. I love stuff like this. Did you have to route it out yourself?
I did not - thank goodness! Some holes to drill for bridge, the jack, strap buttons, knobs or switches if you wanted em, etc but all of the main stuff was there for me already.

How's that pickup!?

I've got a BKP Piledriver which seems a similar crazy high output tele single coil.
I really dig it! I am a big fan of a number of Planet Tone pickups, and these (I have the neck in another guitar) are really great. The voice/center of the note is front and forward - just the way I want it to be.

The sound is clear, but maintains a warmth - and is extremely responsive to picking dynamics, so I am able to play this on lead and clean, without the need for a vol knob or a switch, as the response to my pick attack is enough to go from that cleaner sound filled with upper harmonics, pushed into a nice raunchy driving sound.

I was not certain how this would work out tbh but am thoroughly pleased with the tones.

I should have also mentioned that the body is like a 'mini' firebird - not full/standard size. The neck is also a short scale conversion neck. The smaller neck and body pair well together as the guitar feels balanced to hold and play.
