I have a trade opportunity for a GMP pawnshop Delux in black. It is a 2001 model, all original in very nice shape. I am looking at trading my Randall RM50 plus something else to sweeten the deal. I am looking at a value of about $1500 for it. Do you think that is a good price for that guitar??

There are some very bad pics in the listing. I have been thinking about a LP style guitar lately, and I am thinking that this one should keep its value pretty good.

So are they good, great awesome etc

Killer guitars. I have a pawnshop standard and an Xplorer. Love them both. The GMP downfall is their ugly headstock.

Dan Lawrence (the guy famous for Jackson/Charvel paint jobs) owns GMP. I was dropping off a brand new Custom Shop Charvel for him to paint and he showed me all his GMP NAMM pieces and several other guitars he had in the shop that I got to play. KILLER guitars and great value for the cash - plus if you order something custom you don't wait two years like I did for the aforementioned Custom Shop Charvel...

Anyone know how they compre to us masters for playability???

I had a GMP Firebird and it sounded unreal, especially through the PA and in a band mix. Mine had a big neck, but I didn't mind. The fret job and playability was great.

GMP's are awesome guitars.....I have a few originals and the vibe and tone is excellent. the headstock is cool too

I always really liked the GMP guitars as well. Played one or 2 6 or 7 years ago and loved them.

Is $1500 about the going rate for a Pawnshop Deluxe in a non transparent finish?

Not a bad price, depending on condition. They are expensive sticks normally around $2500 if I recall. Although, I think I paid $1900 for my Firebird, brand new. . .but that was before they went out of business, and then came back. The new prices seem a little higher.
