This amp sounds to be exactly what I'm looking for. 50 watt plexi clone that gets VH tones. But, I don't know much about it. So, I'm hoping for some useful info from those who know it.

A couple of guys on here and my self had an amp fest a few years back. We had a variplex. You had to crank that bad boy. I know I did not like it as much as I thought I would. It sounded like a cranked plexi. A really good cranked plexi. Just not my cup of tea. We had the amp full on. You could not hear the difference with the voltage drop at that volume, but you could feel the difference if that makes sense. I think some of these were modded with the Friedman C45.

It doesn't have a master. It's a full on plexi with the variac attached. You're not going to get high gain out of it.

The Blankenship Custom 45 is the amp you're probably wanting...had one of those too. More gain could be had...
