I like these small low watt heads..as i'm a bedroom only player..
I have a Blackstar HT-5 and love it...but wondering about the Marshall
Any love for the little lower end Marshall Haze ?
Who all has tried it?

my impression is from screwing around with one at a store. I liked the tone. Good sounding clean and overdrive. Got a little fuzzy when pushed into higher gain. Low end thump is probably not adequate for the metal crowd. The thing I remember most was that a few of the knobs felt loose and it had a scratchy sounding volume pot which I thought was pretty lousy for brand new amp. Had not been in the store long either to get wanked on by 100's of people.

i blew one up at a store when they first came out - sounded great right before it went, smoke coming out of the chassis is not a good thing. i told my buddy we needed to ditch now and we both left ASAP

That is seriously fucking metal....

If memory serves, I would have bought the other one. The other small Marshall. Uhm... 5 watts? Might seem like my memory don't serve when it comes to names, that for sure. Class A, or something like that? Hm. Class 5A?

ive also blown a 5150 III at that same store with the dude standing next to me - also when they first came out - they grabbed another one and we continued onward

and another time my buddy blew a tube in a reissue 1959 PCB plexi - we had the channels jumped and dimed running through a matching cabinet - impedance was set correctly - it just decided to crap a tube and pop a fuse. needless to say it didnt smoke so we didnt ditch as quick as the haze

I'm driving out to NC to go check out amps with you and your buddy. Definitely sounds like it would be worth the trip.

I also was wanted to check these out but upon playing a few at gc etc, I noticed the shitty build quality. The knobs and pots on one were installed uneven, the cheap faceplate and knobs bothered me although these were the haze 40 I imagine they share the same assembly etc. Also, the sound was inconsistant ,, some sounded nice and some like fuzzy shit. Their are some cool clips on youtube etc that sound really nice, I guess u have to find a good one. I guess as long as u have the warranty with one u should b alright, even though the haze line is made in china and not the uk.

guess you could say we give the demo models hell so you dont have to

i cant count or even remember all of the microphonic tubes ive encountered cranking tube amplifiers that are on demo. the constant low volume noodling and on/off habbits are hell on tubes.

list goes on and on - always finding something wrong but its never with my own gear - i guess all of these made in china and made in mexico amplifiers just hate us or something
