Testing an Output Transformer

Is there a basic procedure for testing out an output transformer to see if its good. Thinking I may have a toasted one in my Peavey 5150 BlockLetter

I have used this method with success and using something like this across the leads with a 9v battery. I've also hooked up a meter to check bias and when it goes really high while playing with little to no sound you know there is a major issue like an OT that has gone bad.

You can just check for continuity between the wall plug prongs.

Un-hook it and test the windings for "infinite resistance". Electronics 101.
