Just wanted to start this thread to thank Peter Diezel and Nick from the Axe Palace for their great service. I had an issue with my Herbert that resulted in getting another sent to me. His service was great, and the new Herbert sounds fantastic. My Diezel rig now includes the Herbert MKII, Hagan, and Diezel FL 4x12 (w/K100s).

I also have a Columbus fooswitch, and have a quick question. What cable do I need to connect it to the Herbert?

Thanks again!

Hagen and the Herbert, eh?

Hmmmmmmmmmmm....

And how is this sounding? Why the choice of these two? Any experience with the VH4?

Please tell, inquiring minds want to know ;)

Hey Uncle Mo,

Well--I always wanted a Herbert based on the videos of Mr. Andy Wood. Those smooth lead tones were just so killer. I was thinking about a VH4, but I went with the Hagen, simply because I liked the new clean channel. I've read some threads were folks don't like the Hagen, and I just don't understand it. It sounds amazing! I like the contrast between the two. Also--I need to put in a few comments for the front loaded Diezel 4x12--just killer!!!!

Opinions and assholes, everyone's got one and if it ain't yers, it typically stinks

INTERESTINGLY :gethim: enough, my muse is not just a muse of my usual VH4 gospel that I've apparently become known for, ahem. Im actually intrigued to know just how the Hagen and the Herbert sound together, or at least "complement" one another? My reasons for this should be obvious - I've got the Hagen, I've got the V, I don't have the Herbert. Sooooooooooooooooooooo, just sayin'....

Inquiring minds do want to know

And ya, any hate on for the Hagen just doesn't make sense to me. The clean channel is tits. The 2 and 3 are sicko Diezel siggy tonage, the 4th is a new contender in the lead tone syrupy styles, but also a FANTASTIC channel to experiment with on pulling the gain back. If you own a Hagen - try a crunchy sound from the 4th channel - mega sweet spot and surprise 'zone' for this 4th channel IMHO. I know some cats have VALID concerns about the output top volume, fair enough. Some others, the Fletcher Munson bit, but overall?? She's a greasy bastard that likes to be played loose and heavy. Fact is, probably the first Diezel experience where the amp actually feels as though it's playing itself.

More info on the Herbert and Hagen together please.

Peace,
Uncle Mo
