Thanks to DJT for signing the disaster relief request

Sorry to hear this Dan, it’s amazing the damage water can do to stuff you don’t even consider before it hits. We only have to deal with hurricanes here, but we know full well when it’s gonna hit and can prep for them.
Floods come with zero warning..
Hoping this turns around quickly for you

Not sure exactly where you are but my wife and I were in Snohomish area in the Fall of 2024. Stayed in Leavenworth. Took Rt 2. Beautiful country. Were particularly impressed with the Wenatchee River, Snohomish River, Snoqualmie falls, etc.

Best of luck to you, your family, your friends and your gear :(

My apartment is in east wenatchee ( @Jdub has been here!) which is fine/not flooded at the moment, but it is right on the edge and we got very lucky - my bands practice space was completely destroyed, most of the major highways leading in and out have been destroyed, (highway 2, and the i90) my parents house was flooded up to the basement, they and a bunch of my in-laws had to evacuate and are staying at my place and others that still have power and water etc

Leavenworth and basically everything west (so stevens and blewett pass, snohomish, snoqualmie, etc etc) all the way to the suburbs of Seattle is the flooded area, which is basically the entire northern cascade mountain range

Most of my gear is at my band's practice space - basically everything i'm not actively selling or fixing for someone - so i'm basically fucked unless Matt's (the singer in my band) insurance covers it

Hydrologic plucking is amazing.

I heard a basketball-court-sized hole was carved into a dam wall in 20 seconds. I have no further data on that but I absolutely believe it.

Then there's the Grand Canyon. Now that would be some hydrologic plucking.
